About

I’ve always had a thing for the sea.  I attribute this to a trip in my single digit age years to Mystic, CT.  There were anchors everywhere and pretty soon, I was an anchor-obsessed little kid.  An anchorphile?  Is that a thing?  Moby Dick was my favorite movie (Gregory Peck version, obvi).  I wanted to be on a whaling ship with Ishmael and Queequag and Starbuck…a young Emily didn’t realize that was part of the reason she became obsessed with Starbucks in her coffee drinking years…I digress.  I want an anchor and a weathered, wooden lobster trap in my front yard.  I like the ocean, ok.

And I like the food that comes from the ocean…I LOVE seafood.  All types…crabs (blue crabs – I’m from Delaware), lobster, shellfish, specifically oysters…why we are all here today.  Oysters…where should I even start with my love of oysters…could anything be so perfect and “of the sea” than an oyster.  Nope. Read my Introduction post to learn where it all started and stay with me to see where it will go.
